Here at BTTJ we recently took on a volunteering task for our charity of the year Guys Gift. We assisted the charity by making up 19 bereavement resource packs for local Coventry & Warwickshire schools.

The packs are tailored for both primary and secondary schools & include bereavement information guides for teachers & staff, a number of books & a lovely little Guys Gift teddy! There are times when Guy’s Gift can’t get to meet a child or young person immediately, and they want to help schools to feel equipped to offer support in the first instance. So, they have carefully thought about what books would be useful for different age groups and have provided a selection of these to use in schools. They encourage schools to share these resources and activity ideas with children and young people who have experienced a bereavement.

After making up the packs, our team of volunteers distributed the 19 packs to a list of local schools provided by Guys Gift.

We’ve thrilled to be able to assist Guys Gift in this project to help them help local children, if you’re school has not yet received a pack & it is something you wish to have you can register your interest with Guys Gift on their website here: https://www.guysgift.co.uk/bereavement-resource-packs
