Our Clinical Negligence Team have passed their Legal Aid Agency annual review for 2023. The Legal Aid Agency's responsibilities include making sure legal aid services from solicitors, barristers and the not-for-profit sector are available to the general public. Following the Sex Disqualification Act 1919 coming into force, which paved the way for women’s entry into the legal profession for the first time, four women passed the Law Society’s examinations in 1922. And on 18th December that year, Carrie Morrison became the first woman to be admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales. Read On
